AT4 Wireless Becomes the Major Compliance Supplier for Africa
By Anuradha Shukla

AT4 wireless has announced the enlargement of its country’s approval portfolio for Worldwide Compliance Services. This strategic move has made the company a major compliance supplier for the African region. The company is now able to help wireless, mobile and wired manufacturers with their approvals in countries such as Tanzania, Papua New Guinea and Zambia.

AT4 wireless is a global supplier of Testing Solutions for wireless technologies. It is also known for its Wireless Certification & Testing Laboratory and manufactures test & measurement equipment for telecommunication technologies.

Officials inform that they are already providing their general service range to 141 countries from all geographical areas. AT4 covers a wide range of wireless and wired technologies such as WiMAX (News - Alert) and takes care of every step of the homologation process.

Worldwide Compliance Services Manager at AT4 wireless, Gema Briseno explained that manufacturers find it more economical to approach a single consultant for their worldwide approval campaign. It also makes sense that one expert company is leading the whole control and approval evolution.

AT4 wireless recognizes this and has been focusing on increasing their country range. Their efforts have enabled them to fulfill all the countries requested by the customer. Briseno noted that it is not very easy to find a global compliance services company with knowledge and key contacts to proceed with approval processes in these countries with “minor” markets and at the same time, dealing with bigger and more common countries.

“Additionally, some technologies, like WiMAX, are expected to have more future in developing countries and rural areas like these ones.”

AT4 was in the news recently when the company, WiMAX Forum (News - Alert) Technology Competence Center, and first worldwide WiMAX Forum Designated Certification Laboratory (WFDCL), announced that new 3.5 GHz mobile base stations were tested in its facilities.
