Movicel, an Angolan mobile provider, has selected the Amdocs Compact Convergence (News - Alert) solution.

 

Giving this information, Amdocs officials said that Movicel will deploy Amdocs (News - Alert) for real-time charging and service delivery to support its growing code division multiple access (CDMA) operations, and to establish a foundation for offering 3G services.

 

Officials said that the Amdocs solution will help Movicel to quickly introduce new, value-added, prepaid and postpaid services and promotions across any network.

 

According to officials, Amdocs Compact Convergence, a next-generation, intelligent network (IN)-based solution, includes network connectivity modules and can be rapidly deployed or expanded to interface with multiple networks.

 

The solution's low maintenance and operational costs is expected to help Movicel to reduce its total cost of ownership.

 

Officials said that the Amdocs solution will also help Movicel to strengthen its competitive position in the market, drive growth and new revenues, and offer an enhanced customer experience.

Amdocs earlier this month had announced that it has been selected by Clearwire (News - Alert) Communications LLC, a subsidiary of Clearwire Corporation, for a multi-year agreement for the license and implementation of Amdocs CES 7.5 products and managed services.

 

The Amdocs products and services will support Clearwire's retail and wholesale business. 

Clearwire has licensed products from the Amdocs CES (News - Alert) (customer experience systems) 7.5 Portfolio including customer management, self service, billing, mediation, ordering and other products. Additionally, Amdocs will manage Clearwire’s existing business-support systems (BSS) and the conversion to Amdocs CES 7.5.
