Globitel has announced that it has entered into contract with Warid Telecom Private Limited (Warid), a telecommunications service provider in Pakistan, to provide, appropriately customize, setup, test and handover its Intelligent Traffic Steering Solution.

“Warid, which caters to a large number of inbound and outbound roamers across the world, needed a long-term and viable solution to effectively manage its roaming traffic,” said Asma Khan, General Manager International Business for Pakistan. “After careful deliberation, the group decided on Globitel's (News - Alert) solution as it boasted a variety of additional features. Globitel's traffic steering solution is perhaps the most operational in this region due to its unmatched performance and customizability.”

Company officials claim that Warid had discovered it was loosing significant chunks of revenue to other service providers the moment its customers used their mobile handheld phones and computing devices in geographical areas not covered by Warid, especially when out of Pakistan’s borders.
Globitel’s Intelligent Traffic Steering application, claim officials, equips service providers with live, distant and invisible control over selection processes for visited public mobile networks (VPMN) and provides it with select tools to redirect their outbound roamers to collaborated and preferred networks of other service providers with whom it has mutually beneficial and structured service level agreements (SLA’s).
Benefits for service providers are that the application can exercise total and discreet control over every single customer’s roaming usage, visibly assess the geographical areas worldwide that require new or updated SLA’s, enter into guaranteed profit making ventures with other telecoms, ensure watertight revenue flow and effectively block out either inadvertent or manipulative competitors.
“We are honored that our solutions cater to the needs of a high profile operator like Warid,” said Belal Othman, Director for Sales and Marketing at Globitel. “We have cooperated with Warid on several projects in the past, and we are certain that our partnership will only grow from here.”
Globitel is based in Jordan and provides converged telecom solutions in more than 35 countries, and has network partnerships with telecoms mostly in parts of Asia and Africa.
